Roxy

I bought my husband a Digital Rebel XT for his birthday. Over on my daily blog, one of my friends demanded a "sepia toned, interestingly lit picture of your dog" on the photoblog. Well, I'm not sure about interestingly lit, but here's something anyhow.

Las Torres

Las Torres del Paine (Towers of Paine) are one of the marquee features of Patagonian trekking. This view was actually the one that caused Sarah to conscript us all to go on this particular adventure. We never saw to top of the tallest tower, which is the one furthest to the left in this picture. I've seen plenty of photos, though, where you couldn't even see the bottoms of the spires. Plus, though the hike is nothing to sneeze at, I thought that most of the accounts I'd read were overblown. It's a day, but it was not anywhere close to the hardest thing I've hiked.

Lago Azul and Torres del Paine

The view of the towers in Torres del Paine from Lago Azul. Gavin, of course, needed something else to keep him occupied, so he worked on skipping rocks.

Perito Moreno

This is the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina. The day we were there, you could see all the way up the glacier to the mountain peaks, which is rare I understand. This glacier is one of the few advancing glaciers in the world. It is very active, and we saw several large pieces calve off, although we didn't catch any of that in a photo.

Icicles

Interesting ice on the lift ride up Donner Ski Ranch at Lake Tahoe.
