Meeting my Niece

Gavin and I flew back to Casper for Columbus Day, and met our Caroline for the first time. I hadn't held a baby in many, many years before this. She's so beautiful. She didn't cry at all during this first meeting, though she gave me plenty of chances to rock and comfort her later in the weekend. I'm rather upset that it will likely be about a year before I get to see her again. Babies grow up so much in a year. I can't wait until we can start our own family. Yet one more reason that we need to get the Space Shuttle launched again soon. I want to work a couple flights before taking a maternity leave.
